For Students: Adapting to Life at UVA

Exploration Preparation Action
Take courses that interest you. Convert your high school resume to a professional college document. Attend a Career Exploration Workshop and other UVA Career Center events to explore career options.
Get involved on Grounds. Bring your resume to walk-in hours at the Career Center for review and feedback. Apply for summer jobs, internships, and/or study abroad.
Talk with upperclass students about their majors, favorite classes, and previous internships. Meet with a career counselor to learn about the internship process. Meet with a career counselor to create a personalized "action" plan.
Research different career fields by exploring the career communities Begin searching for summer opportunities through Handshake: UVA's job database. Update your resume to reflect your college experiences.
